Everyone knows the beautiful strapless dresses worn in glamorous movies by stars like Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Julia Roberts.

On the inside of these creations is a corset construction like the one Christian Dior made, for example. The special thing about this top is the very low cut back that has amazed many. But how does this top stay in place? For example, this strapless design does not sag but moves with the body! Nowadays almost all couture dresses have this construction on the inside.

 

During the masterclass, examples from LeonLeon's couture collection will also be looked at to see how different corset constructions are incorporated into the creations. One of the specific features of the corset created by Leon is the low cut back. You will learn the secrets of this couture corset and how to use it in your own work.

 

Program and techniques

Patterning, making the toile of the corset in calico cotton, fitting, cutting the boning to size and finishing, making corset, inserting V-wire, assembling the corset, inserting closures and finishing.

Knowledge of sewing techniques and experience with sewing and patterning is required.
